Chet Kanojia, Co-Founder and CEO

Chaitanya “Chet” Kanojia is co-founder and CEO of Starry Group Holdings, Inc., a wideband hybrid fiber wireless technology company focused on building competitive, affordable, high-quality broadband across the United States.

Prior to Starry, Chet was founder and CEO of Aereo, Inc., the groundbreaking online television platform that enabled consumers to record and watch live HD broadcast television on virtually any type of Internet-connected device via a cloud-based OTA antenna and DVR.

Previously, Chet was the founder and CEO of Navic Networks. Like Aereo, Navic Networks addressed the challenges of today’s highly fragmented media landscape. Under Chet’s leadership, Navic Networks grew to be the undisputed industry leader in advanced television advertising and was acquired by Microsoft in 2008.

Chet holds more than 31 patents in fields ranging from robotics to data communications systems and is an innovative leader known for pushing beyond the conventional and developing breakthrough solutions. He has been recognized as one of the "Top Disruptors of 2013" by Forbes magazine, noted as part of Vanity Fair's 2013 "Next Establishment List” and named one of Inc. Magazine’s 2013 “Entrepreneurs of the Year.” Aereo's technology was also named one of TIME magazine's Top 50 Best Websites (2012) and a Top 50 Technology (2013) by MIT Technology Review. In 2019, Chet was honored with Public Knowledge’s IP3 Award for Internet Protocol for his years of work developing technology in the interest of competition and consumer choice.

Chet holds a master's degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in Bhopal, India.

Joe Lipowski, Co-Founder and CTO

Joseph “Joe” Lipowski is the Chief Technology Officer for Starry Group Holdings, Inc., a wideband hybrid fiber wireless internet service provider, pioneering the deployment of next generation, high-capacity, point-to-multipoint, fixed wireless broadband using millimeter waves. Starry is re-imagining how consumers connect to the internet by developing an eco-system of products designed to make broadband access simple and affordable. Starry is currently serving customers in the Boston, New York City, DC, Los Angeles and Denver metro areas, with an expansion and spectrum access roadmap that covers more than 40 million households nationwide.

Prior to joining Starry, Joe served as the Chief Technology Officer for Aereo, Inc., where he led the technology development for Aereo’s proprietary, cloud-based antenna/DVR platform. Before Aereo, he served as Senior Vice President of Engineering at LoJack Corporation, where he led the engineering team to develop products and operate services for the stolen vehicle recovery and persons at-risk markets.

Joe has held a number of senior technology leadership roles, including Vice President of Research, Base Station Subsystems Group of Andrew Corporation. He joined Andrew as part of its acquisition of Celiant Corporation where he was a founder and Celiant’s Chief Technology Officer from its spin-off as the RF Power Amplifier division of Lucent’s Wireless Networks Group. Joe joined Lucent/Bell Laboratories in 1997 as Director of RF Hardware Development, where he led the development of RF Subsystems and Cellular Base Stations including Power Amplifiers, Transceivers, and Filters.

Prior to joining Lucent, Joe held a series of increasingly responsible leadership roles with start-up Pacific Communication Sciences, Inc., (acquired by Cirrus Logic) in San Diego and Boston developing RF Chipsets and subscriber terminals.

Joe holds the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Alex Moulle-Berteaux, Co-Founder and COO

Alex Moulle-Berteaux is the Chief Operating Officer for Starry Group Holdings, Inc., a wideband hybrid fiber wireless technology company focused on building competitive, affordable, high-quality broadband across the United States. At Starry, Alex is responsible for overseeing the business performance and operations, network deployment and maintenance, product deployment, customer care, sales and marketing.

Prior to joining Starry, Alex served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Aereo, Inc., the groundbreaking online television platform. As Chief Commercial Officer, Alex oversaw the company’s marketing initiatives, customer care, distribution partnerships and product management, and played a critical role in helping develop Aereo’s overall business and its nationwide expansion efforts.

Before joining Aereo, Alex served as Global Head of Marketing and Public Relations for Rockstar Games, the leading development and publishing label of publicly traded Take Two Interactive, maker of blockbuster video game franchises Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne, Midnight Club and the investigation game LA Noire. At Rockstar Games, he led the game launch efforts for the company, including the record breaking 2008 launch of Grand Theft Auto IV, heralded as the biggest entertainment launch in history.

Prior to Rockstar Games, Alex served on the management team of Media Arts Lab/ Chiat Day, Apple’s marketing agency out of Los Angeles and London. While there, he led the day-to-day management of the global marketing campaigns for the Apple account across products including the Mac, iPod and iTunes, Apple TV, and the launch of the iPhone. Prior to joining Media Arts Lab, Alex worked in various New York-based advertising agencies on a wide variety of global brands.

Alex was born and raised in Paris, France before he moved to the United States. He is a graduate of Boston College.

Virginia Lam Abrams, Co-Founder and SVP Government Affairs and Strategic Advancement

Virginia Lam Abrams is a seasoned communications and public affairs executive with two decades of experience working in technology, media and politics. She is currently Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Strategic Advancement for Starry Group Holdings, Inc., a wideband hybrid fiber wireless technology company focused on building competitive, affordable, high-quality broadband across the United States. In her role at the company, Virginia is responsible for leading Starry Connect, the company’s digital equity program focused on developing partnerships with public and affordable housing owners to deliver ultra-low-cost internet solutions to their residents. She also advocates for and represents Starry in front of governmental agencies at the local, state and federal level and engages with policymakers and the public interest community in advancing pro-consumer policies that protect privacy and competition in the broadband marketplace. Virginia also leads media and investor relations for the company and certain business development functions.

Prior to Starry, Virginia served as Senior Vice President of Communications and Government Relations at Aereo, where she spent three years guiding the company’s communications, advocacy and lobbying efforts. Prior to joining Aereo, Virginia was Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at Rubenstein Communications, where she managed a portfolio of clients spanning the media, technology and real estate industries. Prior to joining Rubenstein, she served as a deputy press secretary and spokesperson for New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg during his second term, where she led communications for the Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition and managed a portfolio of city agencies including the NYPD, FDNY, Department of Education, and Law Department. In 2010, Virginia served as deputy campaign manager and communications director for the Republican nominee for NYS Attorney General and was recognized by The Capitol as one of the magazine’s “40 under 40 Rising Stars in New York Politics.”

Virginia holds a Bachelor of Science in journalism and political science from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She serves as the Chair of the board of directors of Public Knowledge and on the advisory board of Engine.

William Lundregan, SVP and General Counsel

William “Bill” Lundregan is a senior legal executive and business partner with General Counsel experience in venture-capital backed and private-equity owned companies. He is currently the General Counsel for Starry Group Holdings, Inc., a wideband hybrid fiber wireless technology company focused on building competitive, affordable, high-quality broadband across the United States.

Prior to joining Starry, Bill was SVP, General Counsel & Secretary of Esselte Group Holdings, a private equity-held business with 2,500 employees and subsidiaries in over 30 countries. He was the chief legal officer responsible for global legal functions, including legal strategy and counsel to the private equity investors, boards of directors, and senior management. Under his oversight, the company closed M&A and corporate financings and refinancings with aggregate value in excess of $1.5 billion. Bill was a key member of the senior management team that dramatically restructured the business, closing over 15 manufacturing and distribution plants in North America and Europe and reducing headcount by over 50%, helping to achieve a 10x increase in profitability and the return of over $200 million in dividends to investors.

Bill excels at building business-partner relationships across functional areas and executive levels. He has a proven track record of providing commercial and strategic advice at the management and board levels, both with regard to legal risk management and more broadly across the business.

Prior to Esselte, Bill was a corporate associate at Skadden, Arps from 1996 to 2004, where he represented purchasers and sellers in M&A transactions and issuers and underwriters in public and private equity and debt offerings, and regularly counseled clients on strategies and issues, including compliance with federal security laws.

Bill earned his BA in English from Georgetown University and his JD / MBA from Boston College.
